5 Life Insurance Myths Debunked

1.Life insurance is cheaper if you buy it online

While the internet is a great resource for researching all types of insurance and insurance policies, buying insurance online does not mean you are getting a better deal. In fact, you’re likely getting the same deal but are forgoing the customer support that comes with buying insurance through an agent. And if you ever get into a car accident, for example, an online vendor of insurance may not be able to provide assistance right away. However, an auto insurance purchased in person will have an agent just a call away!

2. You can be too young to worry about life insurance

Worrying about life insurance when you are young is actually a huge advantage! Purchasing a life insurance policy when you are younger will help keep your rates lower in the long run. This is because life insurance purchased while the policy holder is healthier poses less of a risk to the insurance company.

3. Life insurance is not available to older people

Anyone can purchase health insurance! While the goals and plans for a life insurance policy of a 75-year-old may be different to one of a 30-year-old, all life insurance policies are a great investment. It’s never too late to invest in not only your future, but the future of your loved ones.

4. You only need life insurance if you are working

Stay-at-home parents often have this mindset; however, it is a myth. Non-working parents or grandparents should still consider what they bring to the household as extremely valuable and insurance-worthy.

5. Single people do not need insurance

While you may be single, this does not mean there are not people who are depending on you. Single parents or single people with aging parents who depending on them financially are at risk of putting their dependents in harm’s way without life insurance.
