Many people think that just because they have been with the same insurance company for twenty years, they are guaranteed to be getting the best rates. This may not necessarily be the case. Depending on the situation, it may be a good time to compare different companies’ rates. Whether it be you just had an accident, you are looking at adding a younger driver, or you just got a ticket, you may find that the company you have been with for so long is no longer the cheapest. Just remember that cheaper is not necessarily better as some companies offer longtime benefits to their policyholders that might be well worth paying out the extra $200 or so a year for. When in doubt, ask your agent to review the cheaper quotes that you receive and to give you advice.
