What to Do if You Start Hydroplaning

With warmer weather comes the increased potential for heavy rain storms. Knowing what to do if you are caught in one of these storms, especially in the event of your vehicle starting to hydroplane, can mean the difference of you making it to your destination or not.  Hydroplaning is caused when your vehicle loses traction on the road due to the wet surface, very similar to when you lose traction when driving on ice.  A few things you can do to decrease your risk is to make sure that your tires are properly inflated and regularly maintained. Also, know the roadways you are traveling as to where water tends to accumulate and above all, drive safe and do not take any sort of unnecessary risks.
